Lots of evidence of investment in Glasgow’s buses. First’s spending drive has produced lots of new double-decker buses while rivals McGill’s have also been buying – lots of newer bendy buses and single deckers around. Would either company have done this if the other had not been around? Impossible to say, but the benefits to bus passengers are pretty clear – the product looks better and it offers a much more attractive public transport choice.
