ScotRail performance improvement plan – Transport Focus response

21 October 2016

Yesterday the ScotRail alliance published a plan to improve recent poor performance.

Robert Samson, passenger manager at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Passengers in Scotland will be pleased to see some concrete plans for improving recent poor performance. However it is disappointing to see the operator continuing to use targets based on the industry ‘PPM’ measure, which allows five or ten minutes margin of lateness. Passengers rightly expect train punctuality to be measured in a way that makes sense to them. If you’re a minute late, you’re a minute late.”
