East Anglia franchise – Transport Focus response

26 October 2015

Today the government published the invitation to tender for the East Anglia franchise.

David Sidebottom, passenger director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Passengers will be pleased to hear that things are moving on the contract for their rail service. East Anglia passengers tell us they want more punctual services and better-quality, more comfortable trains. As one of the main funders of the railway, passengers’ needs and expectations should be paramount. We will now be looking to bidders to demonstrate they have got the passenger at the heart of their plans.”
