Passenger watchdog responds to launch of Shaw Report consultation

Today the Government is asking for input on the future of Network Rail.

 Nicola Shaw, chief executive of High Speed 1, is advising Government on the longer-term future of Network Rail. Today, as part of this work, the Department for Transport has launched a scoping study. This sets out what the Shaw Report will cover, and asks detailed questions of industry.

Mike Hewitson, head of policy at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Passengers will be pleased to see that the review is wide-ranging and considers a number of options for the future. It is critical that, whatever the recommendations, the passenger experience is the key concern. We will respond in detail, and encourage everyone to take the opportunity to have their say as well.”
