With a growing number of electric vehicles on our roads, it is essential to ensure users’ needs are well met. One aspect of the driving experience many find particularly challenging is charging, or attempting to charge, their vehicle along England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads.
This report brings together our existing user research on the charging experience presenting clear evidence of a need for improvement for road users. The report also looks at challenges identified which may affect certain user groups more than others including: those users new to driving an EV, those drivers on longer journeys and female and disabled motorists.
