London to Edinburgh and back

Trains on time, clean, price good – £87 there and back advance purchase, litter cleared consistently throughout journey, not full, good food (once you grappled with and understood a chef was on board!), sun out – an ideal way to travel.

But wow, is that timetable packed with plenty of spare time!

10 minutes at Newcastle on way back, plenty of time at all stations, lots of hanging around.
