Appointment of Scotland Board Member to Transport Focus

The Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Michael Matheson MSP, today announced the appointment of Trisha McAuley as Scotland Board Member for Transport Focus.

The appointment is for four years and will commence on 1 September 2020.

Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, said:

“I would like congratulate Trisha on her appointment as Scotland Board Member at Transport Focus. Her wide ranging skills and experience will make a valuable contribution to this organisation over the coming years.

“I would also like to give thanks to Philip Mendelsohn for the continued service he has provided over the past eight years, and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Commenting on the appointment, Jeff Halliwell, Transport Focus Chair said:

“I am delighted to welcome Trisha McAuley to the Board of Transport Focus. She brings great experience in consumer affairs, especially in passenger transport, and I know she will help make a difference for Scotland’s transport users with skill and dedication.

“I also want to pay tribute to the huge contribution made by Trisha’s predecessor, Philip Mendelsohn, who served in this role with distinction for the past eight years.”

Appointment

Trisha was a senior leader in national consumer organisations from 1995- 2014 including the Scottish and National Consumer Councils, Consumer Focus and Consumer Futures. She was the Director for Scotland of Consumer Futures until 2014. She has since developed a successful portfolio non-executive career, working across a range of sectors in Scotland and across the UK, and with a particular focus on regulated industries. Among other appointments, Trisha is a member of the ORR Consumer Expert Panel, the Heathrow Consumer Challenge Board, and the CAA Consumer panel. She is a former Board Member of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Trisha received an OBE for services to consumer affairs in 2015.
