South Eastern rail franchise – our response

Following the announcement of the South Eastern franchise invitation to tender, Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith said:

“Passengers in London and the South East will be keen to see promised improvements in reliability and capacity. We are also pleased to see that the specification includes the introduction of Delay Repay at 15 minutes and looks for improved Wi-Fi coverage. Passengers will expect the new working arrangement with Network Rail to result in less disruption, and better handling of delays when they occur. The target for improving passenger satisfaction in this area will give this focus.

“This invitation to tender is an important step on the road to the next contract. We will now work with bidders to provide detailed insight on what passengers want for the future.”
