Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern franchise – Passenger Focus response

Passenger Focus is pleased that the future operator of the new TSGN franchise has been confirmed, bringing together First Capital Connect, Gatwick Express and Southern into a single franchise.  With a large and complex franchise to be managed during a period of significant change on the network, we look forward to working with Go-Via to help them ensure the combined operation is responsive to passenger needs.

Passengers will welcome the new trains to be provided for the Gatwick Express and Great Northern Moorgate services, as well as the boost in capacity from the new trains currently being built for the Thameslink routes through London.  They will, though, want to understand how the new operator will run a more punctual railway than they currently experience.

Other details are limited at present and we will be looking carefully to see how Go-Via intends to deliver service quality, drive up passenger satisfaction and build trust among its passengers.
