Transport Focus surveyed rail commuters that could work from home and the extent to which they plan to commute in future. This survey confirms that a hybrid commuting pattern is expected.
This updates our previous findings on future rail commuting patterns published in April – Rail commuting and flexible season tickets.
In this latest survey we focused on people who used to be regular commuters by rail and those whose work does not require them to physically attend their workplace all the time. This was not to ignore those who have to travel to work all the time in order to do their job, but by focusing on those who may have a choice we can get a sense of the behavioural change.
