Network Rail in breach of licence: Passenger Focus response to regulator’s decision

31 July 2013

Today (Wednesday 31 July) the Office of Rail Regulation found Network Rail in breach of its licence for performance on rail passenger services in the long distance and London & South East sectors.

Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Passenger Focus, said:
“Passengers are now the main funders of the railway, so it is crucial that Network Rail focuses on its main priority: getting trains on time. Passengers will expect Network Rail to crack on with the backlog of work and spend its money in an efficient, timely way. Knowing when performance will improve is crucial to maintaining trust.”
