Bus passengers welcome £150 million funding

Commenting on the announcement from the Department for Transport on providing £150 million to safeguard local transport services, David Sidebottom, director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Around half of bus passengers tell us that the bus is the only real means of transport available to them, so today’s announcement will be welcome news.

“Bus operators and local authorities must continue to work together to attract passengers back. Maintaining an attractive bus network for the longer term will be vital for delivering Government’s aims for the National Bus Strategy, climate change and cleaner air.”
