Watchdog welcomes £2 national bus fares cap

Today the Department for Transport announced a £2 bus fares cap across England between January and March 2023.

Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Time and time again, bus passengers tell us they want simpler, better value for money fares. Cheaper fares are vital in winning passengers back and attracting new users. This £2 deal should encourage more people to give bus a go.”
