Digital signalling – how to communicate the upgrade programme to rail passengers

The East Coast Digital Programme is a scheme by Network Rail that will introduce in cab digital signalling on the southern part of the East Coast Main Line. Digital signalling brings benefits in terms of performance, reliability, capacity and safety.
Transport Focus has worked with Network Rail to understand how digital signalling should be communicated to passengers over the coming months as works result in disruption to journeys.
