North East rail user group conference

17 June 2006

York station

Passenger Focus is hosting a major event in Yorkshire with representatives of the region’s rail user group representatives.

The event will take place at the Royal Hotel in York on Saturday 17 June.

On the agenda for discussion are the respecification of the Northern franchise and the route utilisation strategies for Yorkshire & Humber and the east coast mainline. There will also be a discussion forum for rail user groups to raise any issues with train companies and other industry bodies.

As Passenger Focus continues to value the views and input from Rail User Groups (RUGs), the conference is an opportunity for RUGs in Yorkshire & the North-East to meet with Passenger Focus to learn more about our new organisation and to raise and discuss local and wider rail industry issues with us.

In addition, the conference will be well represented by Train Operators and the Rail Industry, with a packed agenda including

  • the ECML Route Utilisation Strategy (presentations by Network Rail and Passenger Focus)
  • the Yorkshire & Humberside Route Utilisation Strategy (presentation by Network Rail)
  • Cross-Country re-franchising (presentations by Virgin CrossCountry and Passenger Focus)

There will also be a Question & Answer session, giving RUGs an opportunity to put questions to the rail industry.

This conference is now fully subscribed and registration on the day is no longer possible.
