The Future of Rail

Passenger Focus chief executive Anthony Smith will be speaking at the IAE & Marketforce’s 8th Annual Conference, The Future of Rail, which will take place on 24 and 25 June 2009 at One Whitehall Place.

The conference will bring together industry leaders to discuss how the rail industry will handle the next 12 months and shape its long term future. Anthony will be discussing the passengers’ perspective on UK rail services, which will include:

  • Reliability, frequency of service and cost? Understanding the passengers’ priorities.
  • Assessing the existing proposition: how closely do operations meet passengers’ needs?    
  • Are fares fair? Re-examining the cost of rail tickets.
  • Identifying a route forward: how can the industry improve its relationship with its customers?
