Try the train day at Woking station

07 July 2008

Passenger Focus manager Jocelyn Pearson will be attending the first South West Trains ‘try the train’ day on Monday 7 July at Woking station.

The day aims to introduce train travel to disabled passengers who lack the confidence or information to access services and is targeted at passengers with disabilities which may create barriers to travelling by train.

The event will provide passengers with information about rail travel, an opportunity to ask questions, an individual journey planning session and a supervised rail journey to experience train travel first-hand.

Jocelyn Pearson said, "We are pleased to be supporting the ongoing work South West Trains is doing for its disabled passengers and welcome this exciting new initiative to encourage new disabled rail users."

The day is by invitation and passengers who are interested in attending the should contact the South West Trains Customer Service Centre to request a place on 0845 6000 650 or email customerrelations@swtrains.co.uk
