Latest rail scorecards published
03 September 2026
Today (3 September) we published our September rail scorecard which covers the first four Rail Periods of the 26/27 rail year (1 April – 25 July).
The scorecard continues to build the picture of passengers’ experiences on Britain’s railway and follows on from the first of our six-monthly Official Statistics and Commentary report we published in June.
Overall national passenger satisfaction remains relatively high at 88%, but passengers’ experiences continue to vary across train operators. Within the data you can also start to see the effects of extreme heat alongside performance and rolling stock issues towards the end of the quarter. Cross Country remained the worst performer with overall satisfaction down to 75%.
We know that for customers, what matters most is a reliable railway they can depend on, which offers them value for money and is responsive when things go wrong.
We’ll be looking at all these factors in much greater detail in our next Rail Customer Experience Official Statistics report.
