Passenger Focus writes to regulator over East Coast disruption

01 March 2013

Passenger Focus has written to the rail regulator and the government following the severe disruption on the East Coast Main Line earlier this month.

On Tuesday 19 February around 200 passengers were left stranded after a late-night service from London to Leeds was cancelled.

Passenger Focus chief executive Anthony Smith said:
“It is unacceptable that passengers were left stranded, without being provided with a hotel. Passengers have every right to know what will be done to prevent a recurrence, not just on the East Coast but anywhere on the rail network.”
