Passenger Focus welcomes British Transport Police drive to increase size of Citizens Panel
03 June 2013
Passenger Focus today welcomed British Transport Police’s call for more members for its Citizens Panel in the North East, Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
Anthony Smith, Passenger Focus chief executive, said: “We always say that the best way to give passengers what they want is to ask them – so it is good to see British Transport Police working to get more feedback from the people who use and work on the railway.
“Passengers tell us that they generally feel safe on the railway, although they always mention wanting to see more staff and police presence. Anything that can reassure people and make them feel safer is to be welcomed.”
