Passenger Voice August 2015: Transport users’ priorities taken to House of Commons

30 July 2015

On 6 July, we held a reception in Portcullis House in the House of Commons to officially launch Transport Focus and to mark 10 years of Passenger Focus.

The event, hosted by Louise Ellman MP, attracted nearly 100 people from all areas of transport. This included political representation from Ministers Claire Perry MP and Andrew Jones MP, Shadow Transport Ministers Lilian Greenwood MP and Richard Burden MP and former Minister, Baroness Susan Kramer.

Rail Minister Claire Perry MP told an audience including Mark Carne, chief executive of Network Rail, and the new chief executive of Highways England, Jim O’Sullivan, how vital it is that transport users’ priorities are listened to. A number of other MPs also attended as well as Department for Transport officials and CEOs of train companies (such as Alex Hynes of Northern and David Statham of Southeastern).

The reception was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how far Transport Focus has come, and what great opportunities there are in the future.
