South Western

The Department for Transport (DfT) has been carrying out a consultation into the future of rail services in the South West. Our response sets out the issues that passengers want to see addressed in the next franchise. Read it here.

We drew on our recent research exploring passengers’ current experiences and their needs and hopes for future South Western services. You can read an overview here.

Wales and Borders

The Welsh Government is carrying out a consultation that will inform proposals for the next Welsh rail franchise. Next year there will be a competition to find an operator to run services (currently operated by Arriva Trains Wales) from October 2018. 

This is a great opportunity for you to have your say on the future of these services. The consultation runs until 18 March and more details are available here.

West Midlands consultation reminder

Take this opportunity to have your say on the future of rail services in the West Midlands. The DfT and West Midlands Rail are seeking the views of the public and stakeholders. The consultation closes on 22 March and you can find more details here.

Transport Focus will respond to the consultation and will draw on our research exploring the views of London Midland passengers.

West Coast

We carried out conducted focus group research with West Coast passengers towards the end of 2015. You can find out about it in more detail in Passenger Voice here.

East Anglia

Transport Focus franchise team is helping review the East Anglia bidders’ proposals for delivering a good customer experience. We’ll shortly be submitting our report to the DfT.
