TransPennine and Midland Mainline electrification works to resume: Transport Focus response

Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog, Transport Focus, said:

“Passengers will welcome the resumption of work to electrify the Midland Mainline and TransPennine routes. Electrification of a route can lead to faster journeys, and improved service frequency and punctuality.”
