West Midlands franchise – Transport Focus response

Commenting on the Government’s decision to award London Midland a new short-term franchise, Transport Focus’s passenger director, David Sidebottom, said:

“Passengers using London Midland trains will welcome clarity about their train services over the next two years, especially the announcement of more staff on hand at stations and on trains.

“Passengers told us that their key priorities are more punctual trains, more seats, increased evening and weekend services and a simpler ticketing system. It is important that the operator keeps a focus on these important aspects.”
