CrossCountry franchise Direct Award – Transport Focus submission to the Department for Transport

When new franchise deals are let we want to see passenger views at the heart of the decisions about their services.

The CrossCountry franchise is due to end in October 2016. However, the Department for Transport (DfT) is expecting to negotiate a further three-year contract (a direct award) with the existing operator.

Transport Focus has set out some high-level issues that we think should be considered as the requirements for the direct award are established.
