European entry/exit system implementation: impact on road users

In November a new European entry and exit system is being introduced which may cause delays for road users travelling to Dover and Folkestone.

Transport Focus Director Louise Collins wrote to National Highways to raise our concerns that plans for sharing information with drivers and for providing welfare if stuck in queues won’t meet road users’ needs.

National Highways and Transport Focus had a useful meeting to discuss these issues on 26 September. National Highways formal response is expected soon and will be published online.
