June 2013 Passenger Transport: giving passengers a greater say

James Dark reports on the Passenger Power! seminar hosted by Passenger Focus in June 2013, at which we launched the report Giving passengers a voice in rail services.

The seminar, on Wednesday June 5, saw key figures from across Government and industry debate how to boost the passenger voice in rail franchising. The panel included:

  • Anthony Smith, chief executive of Passenger Focus
  • Louise Ellman MP, chair of the Transport Select Committee
  • Alex Hynes, managing director of rail development at GoAhead Group plc
  • Anna Walker, chair of the Office of Rail Regulation
  • Peter Wilkinson, interim director of franchising at the Department for Transport
  • Vernon Everitt, director of marketing and communications at Transport for London
  • Chris Perry, head of integrated services at Centro
