Letter from Passenger Focus chief executive, Anthony Smith, to the ORR regarding passenger compensation during engineering overruns at Rugby and Liverpool Street

The ongoing engineering overruns at Liverpool Street and Rugby yet again beg the question about compensation to passengers. Virgin Trains and other operators will no doubt receive significant sums of compensation to reflect the fact they cannot operate their advertised services. Network Rail may be fined in relation to these problems.
