Upgrading the M4 to a smart motorway – road users’ views

Transport Focus has worked in partnership with Highways England to research road users’ awareness, expectations and experiences of the M4 smart motorway work and the associated disruption to journeys on this key stretch of motorway. Not only will this research be used to help enhance the experience for road users during the M4 works, it will also inform the planning and execution of other major Highways England projects in the future.
