A wise man came from the East (Coast) and had a sensible idea…

Those of you using busy trains to travel over the festive period won’t want a scramble for seats and luggage space. Some good practical steps from East Coast, which is running extra services from Saturday until the New Year.

Passengers with any East Coast tickets, even the advance ones which usually tie you to a specific train, can get one of these extra trains. A colleague travelling northwards from London for Christmas informs me that this is welcome because “now there’s more room for pressies.” Not sure that was really the intent, but anything that leads to a more comfortable journey is a positive development.
