The strange death of rural buses? Part Two

31 January 2012

Well, I did spot a pretty lively looking rural service the other day. While down in the border country I saw the number 65 shuttling between Chepstow and Monmouth. A two-hourly service, run by Chepstow Classic Buses. While the bus itself was not brand new and the paint job looked a bit amateurish, it was clean with nice large windows (no vinyl) to look at fantastic countryside. The driver looked alert and on the ball, and there were at least a dozen passengers on board in the middle of the afternoon. All in all looked healthy and will try it next time I am in that neck of the woods.
