Very odd sight on bridge embankment on west coast. Three black plastic chairs lined up to face trains. All have single, large white ‘S’ painted on them. What can ‘SSS’ mean? Some secret signal to drivers? A few miles later we were held up by a cow on the line, apparently an increasingly common occurrence. Were these events linked?
