When even a free, new bus is not value for money!

Manchester City Council sponsors a very handy free bus service that takes people from Manchester Piccadilly station around the city centre, among other places. It has new buses and it’s free with a good frequency.

It was pouring with rain recently, so I decided to hop on Metroshuttle 3 at about five in the evening. After a 25 minute wait I gave up and plunged into rain. 15 others stood huddled in the bus stop waiting…

Punctuality is king – passengers need services they can rely on. Information is key – no real-time journey info at stop and you just keep hoping it will turn up. Not sure if any mobile app would have helped.
