Transport Times – The National Concessionary Fares Scheme: Experiences so far

Passenger Focus Chief Executive Anthony Smith will be chairing the Transport Times, ‘The National Concessionary Fares Scheme: Experiences so far’ conference on Wednesday 29 April 2009.

The event will take place at the ICO Conference Centre in London, and will give delegates the opportunity to discuss and debate the impact of the National Concessionary Fares Scheme.

Several guest speakers, including the Head of Concessionary Travel at the Department for Transport, Richard Bruce, will be commenting on the experiences of the devolved areas, looking at the level and scope of concessions that have been applied and what the impact has been on improving social inclusion as well on local economies. Representatives from the bus industry will also discuss the effect the free travel scheme has had on patronage levels and the commercial implications this has given rise to.
