Responding to storm Eunice transport disruption, Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:
“With severe weather warnings issued nationwide, people should carefully consider whether their journeys are necessary and stay at home where possible.
“If travel is essential, transport operators must support passengers by providing accurate, timely and clear information to help them make informed decisions.
“With disruption set to continue over the weekend, it is good that train operators are providing fee-free refunds and lifting travel restrictions to allow flexibility in travelling at a later date or on alternative routes.”
