Today the Department for Transport announced an extra £130m to support bus services.
David Sidebottom, director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:
“We know that, for many passengers, the bus is their only transport option for getting to work, school or leisure activities. This extra funding is welcome news. It’s important to keep services running for the sake of these passengers, and those who might be considering making the switch from car to public transport. This will be key to helping Government meet its decarbonisation goals.”
