Commenting on the announcement of £84 million investment for Manchester and North West rail passengers, David Sidebottom, director at Transport Focus, said:
“Passengers tell us that their top priority is a rail service they can rely on. More than anything else they need to get to work, home or further afield in a timely and reliable way.
“These welcome improvements will help continue efforts to get rail get back on track and improve performance for passengers. The acid test of these changes will be when passengers tell us they are satisfied with the reliability of their service and value for money of their tickets.”
