Competition rules?

There are two main bus companies in and around Nottingham – Nottingham City Transport and Trent Barton, both of which are meant to be good. They are in direct competition in some places.

The interesting issue that struck me was would they be so good if the other one did not exist? They both claim it’s their focus on passengers that is driving their success.
