RMT strikes on Virgin Trains East Coast and Arriva Rail North – Transport Focus response

Following the announcement of RMT strikes on Virgin Trains East Coast on 28 and 29 April and Arriva Rail North on 28 April, Transport Focus director David Sidebottom, said:

“It is extremely disappointing that the strikes are now spreading to new rail companies. Passengers have to suffer yet more strikes which will result in them cancelling plans or enduring miserable journeys. It is particularly uncaring to organise strikes on the May Bank Holiday weekend when many people make special journeys for holidays or to see friends and family.

“More than ever, it is vital that all parties in this dispute get back around the table to resolve this matter without bringing the railway to a standstill.”
