Announcement of Christmas travel measures – Transport Focus comment

Commenting on the Government announcement of Christmas travel measures to minimise disruption and help people travel safely, Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith said:

“Those travelling in the Christmas window will welcome this plan, whether they are using the roads or travelling by train. Drivers and rail passengers will be pleased to hear that 778 miles of roadworks will be cleared, and extra trains will run because of changes to engineering works.

“Those who bought Advance train tickets before 26 November, and now find they are not able to travel, will be relieved to hear that the £10 fee to change their train to a different date has been waived.”
