Caledonian Sleeper

The Caledonian Sleeper was part of the current ScotRail franchise but the Scottish Assembly decided that it will be delivered under a separate franchise agreement to be awarded in 2014.

The timetable for the award of the new franchise began when the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) Notice was published in May 2013 followed by the Pre-Qualification Process. The ITT (Invitation to Tender) was issued to shortlisted bidders in September 2014.

The award is due to be made in August 2014 ready for the start of the franchise in March 2015.
