Compensation for non-season ticket holders affected by timetable disruption

01 August 2018

Watchdog welcomes signal from Transport for the North about compensation for non-season ticket holders affected by timetable disruption.

David Sidebottom, Passenger Director at Transport Focus says,

“Widening compensation to non-season ticket holders who travel regularly will be an important step in rebuilding passengers’ trust. We’ve been working with Transport for the North to make the case that regular passengers – such as part-time workers – affected by timetable disruption since May deserve compensation. We look forward to seeing more detail from Northern and TransPennine Express about when and how these passengers can claim compensation in a way that is both quick and easy.”

While Northern has reinstated some services this week, passengers have still faced too many delays and cancellations.
