Contactless pay-as-you-go train ticketing to be introduced in the Midlands and North

Commenting on the announcement of Pay-As-You-Go ticketing for more rail stations, Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith said:

“Rail passengers tell us they want a fares system that is simple to use, easy to understand and is flexible enough to cater to how people work and travel today and in the future.

“The spread of pay-as-you-go ticketing, which already works well in London, is to be welcomed.”
