Further £2 bus fare cap extension – Transport Focus response

17 May 2023

Today the Government announced an extension to the £2 bus fare cap, and further longer-term investment in buses.

Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith said:

“Passengers tell us the £2 bus fare is having a big impact in helping them get around by bus and putting more money back in their pocket. Cheaper fares are vital in winning passengers back and providing a lifeline for communities up and down the country.
“It’s great to see simpler, better value for money fares, and also welcome additional investment in bus services. This will help more people give bus a go.”
