Official statistic: National Rail Passenger Survey Spring 2017 results

The latest rail passenger satisfaction figures from the independent watchdog, Transport Focus, are published today.

Some of the key results for the Spring 2017 survey are set out below.

Compared to Spring 2016:

  • overall satisfaction increased significantly by three percentage points from 80 to 83 per cent.
  • overall satisfaction on punctuality and reliability increased by four percentage points from 73 to 77 per cent
  • overall satisfaction increased for those in London and the South East by three per cent from 79 to 82 per cent
  • no train company’s overall satisfaction declined significantly from Spring 2016, and seven train companies significantly improved: Southeastern, Gatwick Express, c2c, Heathrow Connect, Heathrow Express, Greater Anglia and Hull Trains.
