Passenger Voice April 2016: You and your train company

04 April 2016

West Midlands

The Department for Transport (DfT) has been carrying out a consultation into the future of rail services in the West Midlands. You can read our response to the consultation, which sets out the issues that passengers want to see addressed in the next franchise, here.

The response draws on our research exploring the views of London Midland passengers.

 East Anglia

We have now completed our review of the customer experience plans submitted by the bidders for the next East Anglia franchise. Our reports have been sent to the DfT franchise team to assist them in its assessment. The announcement of the winning bid is expected in the summer.

 Wales and Borders

The Welsh Government has been consulting on its proposals for the next Wales and Borders franchise. Transport Focus has submitted our response and it will be published on our website shortly.

Northern and TPE

Our Board recently heard about the new northern franchises at our most recent Board meeting in Manchester. Roger Cobbe (Arriva Trains) gave an overview of the new Northern franchise and what it will mean for passengers.

Leo Goodwin (FirstGroup) also gave an overview on the plans for the TransPennine franchise and what improvements passengers will see as a result of being awarded the franchise.
