Post-board reflections: July 2025
30 July 2025
There is so much going on in the transport sector at present and our monthly Transport Focus Board meetings are an important check-in for the Board and Senior Leadership Team to focus on key issues.
Our July meeting took place last week in Manchester and was a packed agenda. It was excellent to hear updates on the work we are doing with rail operators and policy makers, not least on the current unreliability of Sunday services and the inconsistency of Passenger Assist services.
Similarly, we were particularly pleased to hear about our work with the motorway services providers and the commitment that we have championed to improve the provision of support for those with accessibility needs.
We were also briefed on the work going on to put in place new rail and bus user surveys and were delighted that Stephen Fidler (Director, Buses & Inclusions at Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom) was able to join us to offer his thoughts on future bus reform and policy.
We are very much looking forward to the packed programme of Boards and other events in the second half of the year.
