Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:
“It’s mixed news for Scotland’s passengers as fares increase, though at least for some this will be below inflation. Performance is improving, with less journeys impacted by delays, though it is still below standard. Passengers’ immediate priorities are clear: a more reliable railway, better handling of disruption and better value for money.”
