Rail fares July RPI – watchdog responds

Responding to the announcement that rail fares in England will rise below the rate of inflation next year, David Sidebottom, director at Transport Focus, said:

“It is good to hear that the Government is looking at a lower rate by breaking the link between the usual July RPI figure for regulated fares in England and holding this off until March.”
