Rail sale 2025 – passenger watchdog comment

Responding to the return of the Government’s annual Rail Sale Natasha Grice, Director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Discounted fares are great news for passengers and will tempt many more to give trains a go. Our research consistently shows that value for money is one of the key things affecting rail passenger satisfaction.

“To help build trust in the railway, it will also be important that people attracted by this offer have a great experience on their journeys. Reliability and convenience are just as important as price in keeping transport users coming back.”
